Baby bassinet and cot sheets are essential baby bedding items that can make a significant difference in how comfortably your little one sleeps. Our baby fitted sheets are luxuriously soft and created with natural materials to promote healthier sleeping and are super comfortable to sleep on.

Practicality and functionality are key to the base of creating a good fitted sheet. Our bassinet and cot sheets are made from the purest cotton cloth in a strong sateen weave fabric to promote breathability. We’ve also developed a unique soft-knitted waterproof barrier fabric and added a tiny bit of wadding on the internal side to stop any spills from seeping through to your mattress. This will extend the life of your mattress and makes it so much easier to clean the spills.

Our Marmalade Lion fitted Expect-A-Spill sheets are made from a highly breathable cotton sateen fabric. Featuring a built-in mattress protector and added wadding for extra comfort, our Expect-A-Spill sheets are perfect for your bassinet and cot.

What’s EXPECT-A-SPILL? We’ve developed a unique fabric that’s soft-knitted with a waterproof barrier to stop any spills from seeping through. Unlike other waterproof coatings on the market, we use a TPU coating which is not only more environmentally friendly it is also non-toxic and biodegradable. You can also wash and wipe them as often as you need to without impacting their functionality.

I love the products!! Have been using the same change mat for three years with probably monthly washes and it’s still going strong. The nesting birds are also a favourite in our house and although they are marketed as ornaments, my three year old plays with them soooo much and they have been dropped sooooo many times and they have not broken. Highly recommend. I usually but the change mats for mums expecting their first babies, it’s a great price point and they are always loved.

I bought several items from Marmelade Lion since my daughter was born in 2020. I got a change mat cover, pram liners, a picnic mat. I was happy with every single item and used them a lot! I also got a sun hat which I started using when my daughter was around 2yo. I lost it when I visited my family in France in June. I was quite sad because this hat was my favourite so I just bought a new one. Honestly I personally these sun hats are the best on the Australian market for kids 2 to 5 yo. They have adjustable head size and chin strap, they also have large stiff brim which make them great when it’s windy or when we go to the beach and the hat gets wet. I’d recommend the business to expand in Europe because in France I would not find sun hats with adjustable head size or chin straps. They just don’t seem to make these kinds of hats which chin straps for kids over 2yo. I think chin straps are great for windy days. Anyways! Highly recommended.

FAQs on Fitted Cot Sheets

Why can't I just use regular bed sheets for my baby's cot?

Sheets come in different sizes to fit all the different sized beds. It’s best to find the right size to fit your bed.

As babies and toddlers are a little messy and often have those accidental spills, having a fitted sheet that’s waterproof is an absolute bonus as it will keep the baby safe and dry and the mattress protected too.

Are all fitted cot sheets made of the same material?

There are so many different materials around, it’s hard to pick the right one.

Cotton is often the standard when it comes to choosing a bassinet and cot sheet because cotton is a breathable fibre. One of the main benefits of cotton is that it will help to keep your child cool during summer and warm in winter.

Do I need to buy a separate sheet for my baby's bassinet and cot?

A bassinet and cot are different sizes, so it’s best to get a separate sheet for the bassinet and cot to ensure the best fit.

Can fitted sheets be washed in a washing machine?

All our sheets can be washed in your standard washing machine, and then line dry.

How often should I wash my child’s fitted cot sheets?

Our high-quality TPU waterproof fabric means unexpected spills and accidents are easily wiped away but it’s always hygienically best to wash your sheets regularly, especially after an accident. Easily pop it into the washing machine and line dry.

What sizes do your fitted cot sheets come in?

Our bassinet fitted sheets are a universal fit of 79cm x 40cm with a drop of 13cm. If you have a circular bassinet, simply tuck any excess material under the mattress. Our universal cot sheets are 132cm x 77cm with a drop of 19cm.

Can I use a waterproof crib pad in addition to a fitted cot sheet?

It’s not necessary to double up on the waterproof, but if you feel you need an additional barrier between your baby and the mattress, a bed pad is a good option.
