My newborn isn't ready for solids or messy creative play but she does need nappy free time for her red bottom. I bought the mat to help protect the carpet. Everytime I bring the mat out, the joyful print brings lots of smiles. The mat will hopefully for the next few years of messy fun.

We recently started solids with our now 7 month old and decided to give baby led weaning a go. So far it has been fun but messy! Even though we have tiled flooring in the kitchen, the food bits get stuck in the grout and is a pain to clean up. I started looking for splat mats and this Marmalade Lion mat is exactly what we needed. It's a good size under our babybjorn high chair (we use it in a diamond shape to catch food that baby throws on his sides) and super easy to wipe down. It folds up to be very compact and comes with a carry bag which I can foresee being handy when we go away for holidays. Highly recommend getting one!
